Golf Course At Marriott's Shadow Ridge Resort, The, is a Resort, 18 hole golf course located in Palm Desert, California.
The Marriott Shadow Ridge golf course first opened for play in in 2000. The course was designed by Nick faldo, Brian Curley, and Lee E. Schmidt.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the snow-capped Santa Rosa Mountains, Nick Faldo's vast international experience and passion for strategic design and detail are clearly in evidence at the Shadow Ridge Golf Course. Faldo, winner of six Major championships and the all time leading Ryder Cup point scorer has focused his passion on his first design in the United States. According to Faldo, Shadow Ridge draws inspiration from the great sand-belt courses of Australia. "Our fairways are typically generous but our bunkering style is impressively bold. The greens have plenty of subtle undulations and they reward and encourage a variety of approach shots."

Having played Shadow Ridge about 15 times over ten years I continue to look forward to playing there on every vacation trip to Palm Desert. The course design, playing strategy required, the challenging, but fair, greens, and the overall beauty of the course and surroundings makes for a very pleasant golf day.

A fun course to play for all skill levels ... rewards risk taking but will punish poor shots. This was Nick Faldo's first course that he designed. He did a good job.

A challanging and enjoyable couurde from any tee. Trees, wateer and bunkers strategically placed make accuracy a must for a good score. Greens emaculate even in the hot summer months. I would play it again and again.

Course is gorgeous and very well manicured, but very difficult, even from appropriate tees. Good luck when the wind blows, which was all 3 days we played.

As an owner at the Marriott I have played this couse many times. This is one of the best public courses in the West and one of my favorite courses. The pace of play can sometimes be a bit slow, mainly because players play the wrong tees for their skill level on this course. You need to be able to play shots and not just hit the ball a long way. Bring your "A" game, and have fun.

We play Shadow Ridge once or twice a year (driving from Northern California to the desert) and we think it is one of the best courses in the area. We always play it at least 3 times during our week in Palm Desert. In November, the price is $104 and the course is in excellent condition - just reopening after reseeding in October. We are Marriott Shadow Ridge timeshare owners so we get a reduced rate.
